Why Having CPR Training and an AED May Save an Athletes Life Before The Ambulance Gets There
Budget cuts seem to be in the news when it comes to school and educational facilities . Other places like recreation centers and sports facilities have also been hit by the bad economy having to want to. One thing that should not be compromised though is the health and safety of those people using those facilities and the kids participating in sports for their schools. All staff member and coaches that work at or are in charge of players or athletes must be certified in first aid and CPR supplies in addition to the schools and sports facilities should all have an automatic defibrillator also known ascalled an AED on site .
First aid training in addition to CPR training has shown to be effective in helping to save lives. Usually something will happen that will require immediate attention of people around the injured or sick person and must be done until the ambulance can get there . Coaches that are CPR trained] may be able to save a life by may have collapsed and reside , it could take EMS or an ambulance several minutes to arrive at the scene and then it might be too late. The chance of this occurring in an athletic arena tends to be a somewhat greater since athletes young and old are pushing themselves physically to start with.
Not only should coaches be trained in first aid and CPR but an automatic defibrillator must be on the school grounds the victim to breathe again. This too , has been proven to help resuscitate a person and bring them back to breathing and having a heart beat when many thought they would not make it . A lot of Americans have preexisting heart conditions that they are unaware of because they have experienced no symptoms . When they push themselves physically and get their heart rates rising , this is when they could have a problem such as a heart attack.
Not only can an AED restart someone’s heart that has stopped others that have been struck by lightning on a softball field too . When that much electrical current shoots through a person, it often results in stopping their hearts but if a AED is on site with a person who is trained to operate] it, they could be revived arriving to take over. There is no reason why all athletically involved an AED.
With rising budget cuts, many schools may not afford extra expenses for things like medical supplies or an automatic defibrillator. The safety of our kids is imperative so many communities or booster groups have held fundraisers to help pay for these things as well as to help pay for training for staff to have CPR and first aid training each year too .
