My family had never made chiropractic care part of our normal medical routine, the entire time I was growing up. But it changed when my dad began to have trouble with his back seizing up. I decided to go as well when he sought the care of a doctor of chiropractic and had such great results. I was in high school at the time, participating in cheerleading and gymnastics, but all of the strain caused pain in my neck and back. Chiropractic Care In Costa Mesa
I am still under the care of a chiropractic doctor for nearly ten years later. I graduated from college and moved a few hours away from my hometown, and I knew that I would need to find someone quickly in order to continue my chiropractic care on a monthly basis. Dr. Candice McCowin, DC at Great Life Chiropractic in Costa Mesa was highly recommended by a couple of co-workers when I asked around at my new job to see if anyone knew of a great chiropractor.
From there, chiropractic care was something my entire family preferred. My mom was suffering from sciatica, which caused her great discomfort. It was difficult for her to stand very long without feeling pain in the backs of her legs. Her job description of standing to assist customers and ring up sales each day full-time in my parents’ retail store really made life difficult for her.
Mom had taken several days off to visit me in Orange County and told me that she had not been feeling well. Dr. McCowin was able to squeeze her into her busy schedule and we learned that sciatica is a symptom which often shows up as leg pain. It might be nothing more than a strong cramp in the leg, or it can be an absolutely excruciating, shooting pain that makes it impossible for the victim to sit or stand. Barely able to find a comfortable position, whether she was sitting or standing, was the way Mom had been feeling.
While Dr. McCowin took Mom’s medical history, she explained that the pain is more intense when sitting, sneezing, or coughing sometimes. She said that sciatica can occur suddenly or develop slowly. Sometimes, patients report feeling weakness, numbness, or the sensation of burning or tingling in the leg or toes.
To each bit of information as the doctor spoke, Mom nodded her head “yes”. In order to continue treatment, she was excited to put her care for feeling all of these symptoms in Dr. McCowin’s hands despite driving a couple of hours from my hometown to Costa Mesa.
I recommend chiropractic care to everyone that I know because of the results that we have seen. Chiropractic Treatment In Orange County
