A body cleanse requires the elimination of all red meat, dairy, and processed foods from the diet. The cleanse starts with a one to two day fast, where one consumes only water and fruit juices. After the fast, one may eat only raw fruits and vegetables. This process is meant to help the body purge itself of toxins.
As toxins accumulate, a variety of health problems arise. These can include increased allergy symptoms, chronic fatigue, stress, chronic headaches, lack of energy and depression. The human body is constantly detoxifying itself. The liver breaks down toxins, then they are eliminated through the kidneys, skin, colon and lungs. However, modern technology and industry have produced many more food and environmental toxins than the body may be able to handle. It may need help ridding itself of these damaging external chemicals. This is where a total body cleanse comes in. This process helps give the body a rest from intake of toxic compounds, allowing it to purge itself of harmful materials.
This process requires a temporary but drastic change in diet. Immediately ceasing consumption of processed foods, animal foods, and caffeine to start the cleanse may be detrimental. This can cause side effects such as nausea, headaches and dizziness. The best option is to slowly taper off these substances. At the same time, drink enough water, and begin a diet of whole grains, organic fruits, vegetables, etc. Then, begin the fasting phase of the cleanse. This makes the entire process more successful.
Give your body a break by consuming only water and fruit juices for a couple of days. This allows your system to rest, since ingestion of toxic chemicals goes way down. You can more easily prepare yourself to get rid of the existing harmful substances your system is harboring.
Cleansing products are available if fasting and a liquid diet are not enough to decrease the level of toxins. These types of products usually target specific organs as opposed to the entire body. In contrast, cleanse diets address overall body function. This type of diet consists entirely of raw vegetables and fruits for a number of days.
When shopping for a cleansing product, look at the ingredients to be sure they will be healthy for your body. Make sure that either the cleansing product, as well as the entire diet, will promote fat and weight loss. Most toxins are stored in fat, so this is the key area that must be addressed. A total cleanse is most effective as opposed to a specific product. It reduces weight, and ultimately, fat.
A cleanse should last no longer than ten days. Do not cleanse for an extended period. This can detrimentally affect an individual. The entire body loses protein, and muscles can atrophy. In addition, anemia, low blood sugar and irregular heartbeat can develop.
A good full body cleanse can lead to healthier life habits. Good long-term habits lead to lower toxicity levels in the body. This maintains an increased sense of well-being and energy. Even though a person’s organs are equipped to continually cleanse themselves of harmful compounds, a good body cleanse detox may be just what’s needed to help the process along.
