Basic rules for weight loss:

1. Define your basic metabolic rate. It is energy that your body requires for the right functioning. So you should consume a particular amount of calories every day to make your body function in a proper way and supply it with the needed energy level. Do not go under this amount because some problems will arise.

2. So now when you know your minimum intake of calories, the next thing you should do is to calculate an average amount of calories that you burn during your physical workouts. For this purpose you can use different tools to get to know how much calories are melt. If you want to have more exact figure, you should precisely calculate how much time you spend on sitting, walking and so on and so forth. It is somewhat difficult but you have to calculate this in order to increase you every day physical activity.

3. Do the same thing with calories you consume during the day. Keep a log of what you eat and drink during a common day and calculate the number of consumed calories for each item. The total amount of all the items is the amount of calories you consume each day.

And now be ready to make the final calculation. You should sum up the total from point 1 and point 2 and subtract the amount from point 3. You should get a positive number to know that you are on the right way.

So as you see there is no mystery in the weight loss process. Do not expect to lose weight in a fortnight, there are no magical pills to help you to melt your extra pounds, you have to put some efforts and do some work to achieve successful results. So, start thinking on your long term weight loss plan and follow it steadily to make your weight loss more effective.
