Organize Your Family Photographs Through Scrapbooking

If you are looking for ways to preserve your family pictures, try scrapbooking. Using digital photos makes the job easier than ever. The digital shots can be scaled to fit perfectly on your page every time. You will be able to preserve all those memories for many generations.

There are many things that you can include in your scrapbooks as well as many ways to organize your books. One favorite way is to create mini scrapbooks that present a special occasion in the life of a family.

One example of a mini scrapbook would be one that highlights your Disney vacation. While visiting the parks, you will find that most of the larger stores include a Disney scrapbook. If you do not see one, just ask. The employees in merchandising are very good at knowing which stores carry certain items. If you did not purchase the scrapbook on your trip, you can also purchase them online.

Another way to organize is to feature one person in each book. For example you may choose a picture of your son in a black helmet as he is riding on an ATV and another with the first fish he catches. You could include the first day of school along with high school graduation. Most of us have more than enough pictures of our children to more than fill any book.

Still other people organize Scrapbooks chronologically. They start a new book each year. This allows you to easily access materials even though many different events or subjects are covered. The material is manageable because the information contained is only for a year.

Some of the scrapbooking tools help you to keep each page interesting. If you have a die cutter you can form letters and cutouts the are a perfect match to each page. Sticker makers put acid free adhesive on the cut outs and the pictures. This adhesive allows you to position the item but move it if necessary without ruining your paper that is serving as a background.

All papers, inks and adhesives that you use in your craft should be acid free. Acid free supplies help to prevent deterioration of your photographs and work for many years. Another term you may see that describes acid free materials is achievable. These materials do not break down over time like older papers did.

When you do a good job at scrapbooking you are preserving some of the most important history on earth. The history of your own family.
